The North State Tai Chi Festival is a FREE EVENT open to anyone who has an interest in Tai Chi, meditative movement, or an interest in learning new ways to improve your health. It is a time to share knowledge, learn new things, experience difference teachers, styles, and methods of Tai Chi. It is also a time to make new friends and make new connections.

We have some of the best Tai Chi instructors in the North State lined up to introduce you to different exercises and aspects of Tai Chi. Participants will be able to take a short 40 minute class from each teacher.

Nadia Hava Robbins Tai Chi

Nadia Hava Robbins is

certified by the American T'ai Chi and Qigong Association as a Master T'ai Chi Instructor and is proficient in Tai Chi Sword and Fan. Nadia is a talented instructor and will lead participants in the fundamentals of Tai Chi Sword exercises.

Carmelo Farruggia Tai Chi

Carmelo Farruggia has been studying Taiji since 1980.  Has lived, worked and studied

in both China and Taiwan for several years and continues to study with teachers around the world.  He teaches in Fair Oaks CA.  He will be teaching Relaxing Gong, Dan Tian Rotation and two person exercises such as touch, adhere, and follow.

Craig Townsend has practiced Tai Chi since 1984 and taught the Cheng Man Ching Tai Chi Chuan at Golden Jade Tai Chi Chuan in Rancho Cordova, CA since 2013. He will present the finer skills of sensing and moving a person's center in the Push Hands exercise.

Redding Tai Chi

Michel Czehatowski is Redding Tai Chi's instructor. He teaches classes at Unity Church and through the Shasta College Community Education program. He will introduce simple Tai Chi exercises that are for all ages and abilities.

Schedule:

9:40 am - 10:00 • Please sign in at the registration both. 

10:00 am • Welcome and Orientation. 

• Participants will break up into groups. One with each instructor. At the end of the 40 minute presentation teachers will rotate to a new group. Each group will have presentations by all instructors.

10:10 - 10:50 am • 1st Group session.

11:00 - 11:40 am • 2nd Group session.

11:45 - 12 noon Tai Chi Demonstrations

12 noon - 12:45 • Group photo then Lunch Break. Bring a lunch and enjoy a break with everyone.

1:00 - 1:15pm Tai Chi Demo by TBA

1:20 pm - 2:00 pm • 3rd Group Session (Everyone will resume classes with the instructors.)

 

2:10 - 2:50 pm • 4th Group Session. Spend the last session with the teacher of your choice! 

3:00 - 3:15 pm. Closing words.

 

We will also be selling Redding Tai Chi T-shirts to raise money for the Redding Tai Chi Meditation Garden Project.

North State Tai Chi Festival is a free event but to help defray costs we appreciate donations.
