North State Tai Chi Festival!

Note: We want to insure that we have a COVID safe event. With that in mind,
all attendees will be required to wear masks over their nose and mouth
and practice social distancing.
The North State Tai Chi Festival is a FREE EVENT open to anyone who has an interest in Tai Chi, meditative movement, or an interest in learning new ways to improve your health. It will be a time to share knowledge, learn new things, experience difference teachers and styles of Tai Chi. It will also be a time to make new friends and make new connections.
We have three of the best Tai Chi instructors in the North State lined up to introduce you to different exercises and aspects of Tai Chi. Participants will be able to take a short 40 minute class from each teacher. There will also be a panel discussion in the afternoon.
Nadia Hava Robbins is
certified by the American T'ai Chi and Qigong Association as a Master T'ai Chi Instructor and is proficient in Tai Chi Sword and Fan. Nadia is a talented instructor and will introduce the group to the fundamentals of Tai Chi Sword exercises.
Carmelo Farruggia has been studying Taiji since 1980. Has lived, worked and studied
in both China and Taiwan for several years and continues to study with teachers around the world. He teaches in Fair Oaks CA. He will be introducing Relaxing Gong, Dan Tian Rotation and two person exercises such as touch, adhere, and follow.
Michel Czehatowski is the instructor for Redding Tai Chi. He teaches classes at Unity Church and through the Shasta College Community Education program. He will introduce "Join Hands" a two person variation of "Push Hands" that is non-competitive and stresses moving in harmony with a partner.
9:20 am - 9:50 • Early Bird Tai Chi Warm-ups
10:00 am • Welcome and Orientation.
• Participants will break up into groups. One with each instructor. At the end of the 40 minute presentation teachers will rotate to a new group. Each group will have presentations by all instructors.
10:10 - 10:50 am • 1st Group session.
11:00 - 11:40 am • 2nd Group session.
11:45 - 12 noon Tai Chi Demo - Nadia Hava-Robbins
12 noon - 12:45 • Group photo then Lunch Break. Bring a lunch and enjoy a break with everyone.
1:00 - 1:15pm Tai Chi Demo - Carmello Farruggia
1:20 pm - 2:00 pm • 3rd Group Session (Everyone will resume classes with the instructors.)
2:10 - 2:50 pm • Tai Chi Instructors Panel Discussion. Learn more about Tai Chi as the presenting instructors discuss their thoughts and experience with Tai Chi.
3:00 - 3:15 pm. Closing words.
We will also be selling Redding Tai Chi T-shirts to raise money for the Redding Tai Chi Meditation Garden Project.
North State Tai Chi Festival is a free event but to help defray costs we appreciate donations.
